Rogue Elements – Official Trailer

Since the dawn of time, everything that has lived and breathed on this planet has been subject to the whims of Mother Nature. The nature of an adventurer is inherently rogue; typically wild in character, subject to the fancy of their imagination. We are unequivocally drawn to nature’s rawest fury and deepest mysteries. These are the irreverent souls who pursue the edge.

In the winter of 2017, the magnitude of winter's force was on full display. Telephone poll-snapping storms pounded the Wyoming landscape. Regions to the west, recently left arid and forgotten, were gifted with unprecedented accumulation. Blizzards in Europe buried towns in an instant before disappearing just as fast, leaving the lucky few who were there to wonder if it even happened. A Bolivian expedition found grace above 18,000 feet before the elements went rogue and the humans reluctantly heeded warnings from above.

Join the TGR team as they embark on an adventure filled with fury and glory, and witness the unimaginable.

Next Exit – Copper Harbor

Copper Harbor is the northernmost town on Michigan’s Upper Peninsula and might be considered the definition of “Off the beaten path.” However, to its population of barely over 100 year-round residents, that’s just one of the many factors they love about it, along with the tight-knit community, backdoor access to adventure and seriously stunning views of Lake Superior.

The mining and logging industries brought a decent crowd to the area throughout the 19th century, but once the resources fell off so did the population. What remained though were the logging roads and mining tracks, scars from the resource extraction that would eventually sprout area’s first singletrack. Back in the day, a crew of hardcore locals would embark on color tours, grueling rides (on fully rigid bikes) that connected old double tracks throughout the Peninsula, often 70 or 80 miles.

With that, the spark of mountain biking had ignited in Copper Harbor, and with the help of the Keewenaw Adventure Company and funding for paid trail building, it has become one of the area’s driving forces. Today, there’s over 35 miles of singletrack, making the most of the 500-vertical feet available, and the network has been ranked as one of IMBA’s Silver Level Ride Centers. All of this is proof that a passionate community can create an amazing riding experience with hard work and dedication—no matter how far off the path it may be.

Skiers Turn Boston Streets Into Playground During Record Breaking Winter

While most Massachusetts residents were digging out from the 68” of snow that fell in February of 2015, TGR Athletes and film crews where turning Boston into an urban terrain park. Skiers Clayton Vila and Cam Riley (Beverly Locals) were able to see the streets of Boston in a whole new light.

In order capture Boston skiing in a way never seen before, Todd Jones, TGR’s co-founder and Massachusetts local, used his twenty years behind the lens and a sophisticated piece of filming equipment—a gyro-stabilized system known as the GSS C520¬—mounted to a helicopter and a car. The GSS system is the most advanced camera stabilizing platform in the world. To document this rare Boston skier’s playground, film crews and athletes worked through cold and snowy nights or in the pre-dawn light before businesses would open. In most cases, athletes used winch cables to generate enough speed to propel themselves off the city landscapes. Never before have Boston’s historic landmarks been captured in such a way. Highlight urban features that seen in the film include the Prudential Center, Charlestown, Alewife Station, Redville Station and Beacon Hill.

“TGR just wanted to do something special for a city we hold so highly in our hearts”, declares Jones. “I kept hearing about how taxing the snow was on people back in Boston. The incredible amounts of snow were causing people headaches, impacting their day to day life, people were fighting each other for parking spots. We wanted to create something that reminded people how fun snow is, create something positive out of the biggest winter ever in Boston. Every kid remembers the best days growing up were snow days. This segment is a reminder to enjoy what life throws at you.”
